My Pageant blue Sprint is getting lots of bodywork done and soon I need to decide on the paint job. Now Ive always loved yellow Sprints and if I change the colour is it a bad thing? Not original no but itll never be a concourse car with squillions of years of history, never been owned by a celebrity etc.
Thoughts?

Originality is overrated, that of which warms the heart is most dear.

Your car, do as you wish.

My only point would be that colour changes are not easy to get right unless the shell is totally stripped of all parts. (not to bare metal, that is a different issue)

If done well it probably makes diddly squat difference to value (as long as it is a desirable colour)

An obviously partly colour changed car when you open a door or the boot detracts greatly from what it is. If you can't strip it to a bare shell, then ziebart type treatment to the engine bay for example is better than seeing another colour. Black goes with everything!

Ok thanks. Car will be totaly stripped for a re colour , mostly bare metal atm . Its a late car w reg, was yellow used on late cars too?

Any colour you like will be fine. My wife wanted an orange triumph and it is an orange she likes even not a triumph colour. One advice, just let her choose from 6 different shades. I made a big mistake a few years ago. ...

Doesn't matter, have whatever yellow you wish.
Dodge do a very nice yellow.....

Inca was used up to the end. All you have to do then is change it at DVLA and everyone should be happy.

Im torn between mimosa and inca lol

Gosh I like Pageant Blue.
I don't believe there are any Sprints that colour down here.

Or you could sell and buy a yellow one..........

or you could keep it pageant blue and buy a mimosa one................. They look good together (and even go with brown!).

A Sprint in any colour is a good looking car.

Your car, your choice.
If it was mine I would keep original but then I like originality where possible.
If you chose yellow then I would make it Inca as that was relevant to its year of manufacture.
I had a Mini Clubman in Pagent Blue it is a subtle colour, it suites the dolly.
Still anything is better than the Black, White or Grey on the roads today.

Their is only one (but I am biased)

In that case, best I don't put a picture of my car, may put you off for life.

As I said, the car deserved better.
