Since I had the grills removed anyway for access to run wiring to daylight driving lights, I decided to wire in the Dolomite's
horn via a relay ( I seem to have loads of secondhand relays).
This was simple enough, run a heavy wire from the additional fusebox to a relay located by the horn, swap a couple
of wires onto the relay and earth the relay.

The horn is now way louder than it was before.

You can adjust them.

I found this out when I finally sorted my horn problem. I could only get one or the other working but not both together. This was fine for the MoT so I just lived with it for a long time (like a few other things). I took them off and put 12v to them in turn and twiddled the adjuster until I got a decent sound. Once they were back on the car they worked exactly as they should.

Hmm, something more to fiddle (adjust).
