Wiring loom p clip help (interior)

#1 Post by tony g »

Hi Im stripping out the loom of the blue car and cant see how to remove the metal p clips under the dash holding the main loom. Do they pry off and survive or is it rip off and replace (with what?)

Cheers

It is possible to prise them off carefully, lots of patience and "just enough" force! But I have saved 2 complete sets now, so it IS possible!

New ones are NLA.

I wasn't careful. One of the interesting things about restoring my car has been finding out that certain bits you'd expect to be easy to find are stupid hard, while stuff you thought might be tricky is as common as muck.

On my car I've used bigger versions of these:

with the nails removed and the holes very carefully drilled out enough to be an interference fit on the car. It works OK but the proper clips would be better.

If you're not so careful or unlucky the removal leaves a hole in the bulkhead!
