Sorry about this question but it comes in two parts..firstly how is the mounting panel actually fitted to the car body, screwed, bolted or welded? And secondly, on the outer lamp should there be a gasket or seal fitted to the car that the headlamp bowl seats into? If so anyone know where I can get the seal and mounting ring from?, any pictures or links to pictures of how this all fits together would be great. thanks all.

The headlamp panel was originally spot welded. Replacements can be fitted any way you like because they're only carrying the weight of the headlamps and aren't load bearing. I bought a pair of the club ones and I riveted them on. I suggest that you trawl through some of the resto threads to see how the bowls, seals, etc go together. The parts catalogues should also be of help. There's a download link in the "technical tips" sticky thread.
