HI,

I spotted these on the Rimmers website, the seem expensive but do look good, anyone fitted these before?

As I cannot find any Sierra caliper mounts the TJ conversion is out the question.

Regards

Barry

They look very smart and having held them they are also very light. What I don't know is what discs they use or indeed how well they actually fit a Dolomite, especially behind the wheel. I get the impression that they haven't actually tried to fit a set to a real car.

I am guessing as it comes with pads its to use the origanal discs, which bumps up the price and £100 or so, starting to think my brakes aren't that bad!

It wouldn't be very helpful for them to use large pads and standard discs, they will just get hot and fade. They do talk about vented discs but there's no info. I will contact them out of interest and see what they say.

I noticed that they only list up to the 1850, I'm assuming that means they won't fit under Sprint alloys.

I don't recall the units being that big so they might. Would have to try for size but for that I'd want a kit on SOR, or a 3D model to try it for fit.

I haven't heard from BCC yet but I did have a look at their kit at Silverstone this weekend. To me the calipers look far too large to fit behind a standard wheel with a standard disc let alone a vented one. If you were running larger wheels you could probably get away with it.

I did find another setup from someone else who developed it for Morris Minor and MG Midget. Similar to BCC in terms of look and quality to them, similarly expensive. They did 2 for the Midget which were for either a 240mm disc or a 260mm disc, the latter being vented. I don't imagine that these or indeed some other similar products are far off, again they may not fit.

TJ still looking like the best (and most affordable) solution. I do fancy some of these really snazzy calipers though.
