Hey guys,
Currently fitting a new radio system to my dolly.
I'm going to make/ fit a stealth shelf to the rear for my speakers. Can anyone tell me what fabric they use to do this, and where to get it?
Also the front speaker is meant to go as far as I can see is just a single one above the clock.
I'm pretty open to ideas hear, but want my speaker system as hidden as possible. Where is everyone putting there front speaker. Ideally I want to be fitting 2 at the front and 2 at the rear.
Last question, what speakers is everyone using? My current radio is a Sony one, but I'm open to ideas with the speakers
Cheers
Steve

My Sprint had hidden speakers in the front doors. The door cards had the backing cut out for the speakers but the covering was left intact and it still let the sound come through.
This is what I've done on my 1850. I fitted a pair of 4-way speakers on the rear parcel shelf and secured them with double-sided adhesive pads to make the installation totally reversible.
Coupled with my 1990s Panasonic radio/cassette it looks period for the 1990s when Dollies weren't considered classics. I had a similar setup in my MK2 Cavalier back in 1992.

With a cassette adapter, I can use my phone or an MP3 player. I've got a device which plugs into the cig lighter which gives me USB, Bluetooth and an FM transmitter which I have in the modern but you need an FM radio to be able to use it.

Looks good
Have you any photos of how you've got them in your doors?
Cheers

They'd already been fitted by one of the previous owners so I don't have any photos. I never took any photos of the interior of my Sprint. The best place for such an installation would be at the bottom of the door at the front end.

Anyone fancy going halves on these for the front parcel shelf? Look at this on eBay

I fitted a modern speaker into the original location. Sounds great if you don't mind mono, which suits my 1979 National-Panasonic cassette desk fine..

I've bought a pair of decent 6x4" speakers of which I only need the one. Therefore the other is up for sale at £11 including postage. When I put the fader to the front it sounds pretty nice considering its size.

That's ok. It's open to anyone who wants it otherwise it'll sit on the shelf.
