Hi All,

Well I am back in Dolomite custodianship again, after selling my Sprint last year.

The car is a Sienna 1500 but as been Sprint converted. Got it from a friend that as owned it for 10 years.
Bodily it is quite solid, needs bit of paint TLC and fettling ...........

Anyone got a cigarette lighter they want to sell?.....................I don't smoke but just want to replace the broken one.

I need quick refresh ..............had Sprints ( over twenty years ago) and the one had last year was noisy on start up, as is this one but get's slightly quieter once warmed up. Could it be the timing chain or tensioner?
Also do these cars benefit from having a "spin on oil filter adaptor" being fitted like my other Triumph Big Six cars?.

Cheers Lee

Welcome back to Dolomiting Lee.

One possible cause of top end noise (if is coming from the top end) are the exhaust valve clearances. This is done by measuring the valve clearances and the shims and fitting the correct size shims to bring the clearances back to within tolerances if necessary. On the subject of timing chains, the main problem seems to be the poor quality tensioners that are available.

The Sprint/1850 lump has a cartridge filter but spin-on conversion kits are available. I'd stick with the cartridge filter but it is your call.
