Later slant 4 fuel pump.

When fitting the later version of the slant 4 fuel pump ( RKC 5051 ) do you fit a gasket on each side of the plastic spacer block ? The parts book is vague on this, but the plastic block is shiney-smooth so I'm thinking it doesn't need the gaskets; maybe just a smear of sealant ? The 1850 / Sprint workshop manual actually says that the fuel pump pressure can be reduced by fitting extra gaskets, so I don't want to go over the top with 2 extra gaskets if they are not needed.
Thanks Tony.

Tony, the black bakerlight (sp) type spacer will need a gasket each side of it. Also with modern pattern pumps spacer or not I would put a fuel pressure guage to test the new pressure. I bought a new pattern pump from ANG and it gave over 4 psi so that cost me 40 quid for a filter regulator to put right, and it leaked oil to add insult to injury. I now have a blanking plate and in tank leccy pump.

Thanks for that Tony, I think I know where i can get a reliable pressure gauge.
Cheers for now,

Or change the lever for the one from your OE pump...

Or go electric like your mgb.

Thanks Jon; I've had a look at it and a careful pull on the lever but it won't move. The steel pivot point seems to be supported in 2 rectangular bars which are stuck in the case casting. I wondered if it was all extracted from the top but it has a crimped top so this one might be fit-and-forget perhaps ?
Thanks Tony.
