Sprint cam timing out

My engine runs but not very well.

I have gone through all the tests and finally found that my cam is out by 1 tooth, I can only think that my timing marks were correct untill I tensioned the chain guides, I should have checked it again.

Anyway, not wanting to strip it all down again, is it possible to move the chain on 1 tooth and keep the tension on the tensioner?

Better experts on here than me but..... To move it a tooth you would have to keep the tension on the chain and take the cam sprocket off the chain, move it a tooth and then turn the cam to line it back up with the new sprocket position. Risky but you may be able to with some help.

In a word....Nope....

Once you release the top sprocket from the cam the tensioner will pop out. Gutting, but you have to do it all again...Put the crank at the right place before you take the cover off and stick it in gear so the crank cant move....then set the marks on the cam with the run straight but the curved guide still loose and the tensioner locked in.
