Struggling to fit the gutter trim, does anyone have any suggestions?

Get a nice thick glove and whack it on with the heel of your hand.

This is an absolute pig of a job. That's why I left mine on and carefully masked it when I did the respray.

Yes easy but to add start with the bend above the a pillar.

I've only ever seen the clips on factory vinyl roof cars (ie Sprints) Even then, they don't seem to be essential, I think they hold the vinyl in place till the brightwork is fitted!
I have a full car set of clips but they are NOT for sale, at least at the moment! Incidentally, where fitted, there are 2 different ones, the very front one on each side is different from all the others!

Don't worry Steve I have a full set including both types!

Paul, I thought they were fitted to the later cars which is why I asked.

I also removed all my clips from my car. I'm not convinced they are necessary but kept them just in case.

Guessing well aimed and gentle use of a light rubber mallet may also help in fitting them.

Is the gutter trim still available?

I do have at least one pair of mint gutter trims spare that I could be persuaded to part with, but they would obviously have to be collected as they are much too fragile to commit to the postal system! And couriers charge upwards of £50 to ship anything over 2m long!

I fitted mine back after the respray with tiger seal and g clamps to hold it while it dried..

That's a bit permanent for my taste! They'll certainly never come off again, I glued the GRP wings and front panel onto the Carledo with Tiger Seal, they have been on for 4 years now and survived 2 minor collisions, one from an Audi with a badly applied handbrake that rolled into it whilst parked on a hill last year and the other last Friday from the Jaywalking dog. All the seams are still tight as a drum!

Tigerseal is simply amazing.

I have a problem with the rear of my nearside gutter trim coming detached, resulting in it flapping in the breeze. I have been contemplating using a small pop rivet at the rear end.
Anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it, without Tiger Seal?
