Which Brand of Tyre?

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year
I'm running my 1850 on Sprint alloys and currently on Dunlop SP (175-70-R13-82T). These tyres are reaching 10 years old and i'm planning to replace them only I'm unclear which type to purchase. I'm not sure whether to go for a premium brand like Dunlop as the car does just 1500miles per year and thus will not wear out before 10 years old.
What are others using please? Looks aren't important, just safety!

10years is getting on for tyres, usually 7 is the max recommended.
If you don't want to spend a large sume, decent tyres can be had for fair prices

just be aware of tyre speed ratings. H rated (originally fitted IIRC) are up to 130mph, wheras the old s rated were about 100. T rated is the current "basic" rating to 112 or something, so will be fine for 99.9% of people who don't travel on the autobahns....

A good New Year to one and all!!
I've been running my 1500HL on Uniroyal Rain Expert 165/70 R13 (F) and Firestone Multihawk 175/70 R13 (R) for the last 16 months/12000 miles - they've been good in all weather, at a reasonably fast pace as well, which is what it's all about! - reasonably priced as well.

I will also cast a vote for Uniroyal as these tyres are what I use for everyday driving on a very powerful Quantum RS turbo as well as using them for wet track days.
I fitted them 4 years ago and they seem to wear well too.

On std rims I used kumho's. Good in the wet.

Hi Everyone
Thank you for your comments on tyre brands. I'll look into the price of Uniroyals. I've had Kuhmos on one of my moderns in the past and they were a good ride but wore less well - not that it matters with my 1850 as the miles will be low.

Considering the wheels are on an 1850 wouldn't a T-rated tyre be sufficient? I think the originally fitted 155/70/13 tyres were S-rated for 112 MPH so a T-rating at 118 MPH should be fine.
I have a set of Dunlop SP Sport 200 tyres on my Sprint that will need replacing soon but it's hard an H-rated tyre with subtle looking sidewall and/or tread pattern!

OOps, missed the 1850 bit.
Even on a sprint T rated should be more than adequate for 95% of drivers. Not many take the cars over 80mph, let alone hit 3 figures....
(of course, some do take the cars on track, but even there tricky to get a lot over 100 unless a long straight. Others do visit the autobahns. Got a pic somewhere of us in our spitfire on the last CT 10CR, cruising at 110mph (sat nav verified and no speed limit indicated) but the fuel gauge seemed to be visibly moving. Wouldn't have wanted T rated tyres that day
