Captive nuts are in place, you just bolt the belts in.

If you remove the rear seat sections you'll see some captives in the floor probably with plastic bungs in the threads. The top mounts are under the parcel shelf and will involve drilling the parcel shelf and the reel will sit on top of the parcel shelf so not exactly hidden. hth

There was a thread specific to fitting a third belt in the back: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=28690. I can't get any of the kids to sit in the middle for long, but it means we can go 5-up for short runs, at least.

It depends whether the car was regarded as a 4 seater or a 5 seater. There is certainly sufficient room (if not comfort) for a 5th person.
If it's a 5 seat car, why should it be a problem to have 5 seat belts?
And since it's not a legal requirement to have ANY seat belts in the back of a Dolomite, I can't see even an insurance company complaining about retro fit belts.

If I had my way, i'd remove seatbelts, airbags ABS and anything else that makes it safer to crash cars and make it mandatory to have a 6" spike sticking out of the steering wheel boss. That'd make folk think twice about driving badly - and kill off the REALLY stupid ones!

There are some nice rules here in NL about seat belts and seats where they are obliged.

When there is no seat belt it is not a seat. So because it's not a seat there's no need for a seat belt.

I meant BEFORE fitting a fifth seat belt see what the insurance company says about carrying 5 in a Dolomite. I should have made that more clear.

I've just looked it up in the brochure that came with my Toledo - which describes it as "a 2 or 4 door, 4 seater saloon". So technically - and therefore from an insurance company's point of view - carrying 5 (belted or not) is overloading and would probably lead to them refusing to pay if you were unfortunate enough to have to claim whilst driving 5 up. We all know that the insurance industry will use any excuse to get out of paying! Of course most insurance companies don't have access to old Triumph brochures, so you MIGHT get away with it............
