Nice one! James Paddock have a good reputation. I bought my halogen headlights from them and I didn't have any problems.

Probably and 99% sure the same as from the other supplier. Paddock just thinks 20gbp profit per balljoint is enough.

Paddocks are quoting the Unipart part number, but my money says they will not be Unipart balljoints. As far as I was aware, no one is currently manufacturing these since QH went bust a few years ago, but what do I know?
However I have dealt with Paddocks on a number of occasions (mostly for Stag bits) and their stuff is both decent quality and consistently at least 20% cheaper than their Lincoln competition.

Not only cheaper, on on the occasions there have been issues with an order (one lost parcel, another a bolt was incorrect) the problem was recognised and replacements sent very quickly. To me that is also important, as stuff does sometimes go wrong. Not all suppliers are as quick and open about resolutions.

I wonder if FRAP make ball joints for our cars. Very nice qaulity, I bough a shed load for Opel mantas a couple of years ago. Italian company.

They are the same make as supplied by Rimmers but without the extortionate mark up.

They are OK, I bought a small job lot of them myself a couple of years ago, just before supply became more widespread; I'm guessing limited exclusivity of supply expired.
Based on what I paid back then (I only bought 20), the Paddock's price is very reasonable. I did let a few of mine go to others for a similar price.

I drill holes in them and then fit the nipples.

Really? Is there much room from the hole to the ball?

Yes that easy. The uppers i drill a little hole on top in the flat part and the lowers at the side pointing to the engine. Cut a little thread in it and then screw the nipple in. The nipples have a tapered thread so will tighten and seal automatically. The main advantage is that you can actually have some grease now in your new balljoints and not just a little smear under the rubber boot.
