Sprint gearbox filler plug

I intend to top up the gearbox and OD oil. I'd forgotten how the filler plug is situated in such a stupid location. Mine already looks nicely rounded on the corners so it should be an entertaining process.
I see standard replacement are available of course but can anyone recommend a replacement plug that has a hex head? Or recessed allen key.
I'm not clear on the thread size and whether its definitely tapered so identifying online is hard

The old plug came out relatively easily.
In case this tip helps others - I used a UJ from a standard 1/2 inch socket set with the female end over the filler plug, the UJ bent at right angles and a pair of mole grips on the male end of the UJ to provide the turning force. It's fair to say it wasn't seized or super-tight but this improvised arrangement worked well.

I would stay with the standard filler plug if it were me contemplating a change. The flats across the filler plug can be turned with a 7/16 spanner which is difficult to get into position and to turn. Changing to a hex head would not make it any easier to access and to do up and undo. I recessed allen key would in my opinion be that bit more awkward to work into the recess and undo and do up.
I found a 7/16 female pipe plug socket on, in my case, Amazon which cost me a few dollars with the added advantage that it fits several other filler plugs as well.

Thanks. I reckon the method I used will work fine as well; it's just that since the corners are rounded from the efforts of a previous assailant I ought to get a new plug.
My thinking was that the right angle of a decent sized allen key would act nicely over the lip in the gearbox casing and locate in a plug hex socket nicely with the long arm of the key facing downwards for easy leverage?
Jury is still out though. I might just use the std with a bit of ptfe tape to ensure a seal without tightening it too much
