Correct wiring

I need to make up some new headlight cables for my Sprint as the original connectors/wiring is now breaking up after over 40 yrs. Can anyone confirm if I need single core thin wall cable 0.5mm2 (as per:

http://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/11-amp-si ... able.html.

The cable is indicated on their website as single core but it is actually 16 strand (each strand is 0.020mm thick) auto cable - not the single core as you would get in house wiring circuits. The cable I've seen at 12 Volt Planet on line has a nominal current of 11A and max loading of 132w@12v. Proper colour too of blue/white.

Single Core Multi Strand as opposed to single core solid wire.
I've not checked the website but the specs you quote should be OK.
If the wiring is dodgy only at the headlight end, why not go for Jeroen's kit, comes with relays and new wiring from the battery area forwards?

That's what I'm going to do on RUK, Jeroen doesn't know it yet!

Never knew that website existed, very useful!

Check this out:

I fitted one, came with instructions. There is a noticeable difference in sealed beam brightness, so much so that I'm not bothering with halogens. Unfortunately for me as I was testing the lights for voltage drops prior to fitting the relay kit I burned out the column stalk! Talk about timing. I tucked the relays under the battery - must get round to securing them properly.

That's handy to know, thanks. Will keep this in mind but first I'm going to make up just the lamp wires.

Those are included in the set.
