1300 / 1500 fwd starter ring polybushes

To anyone that may be considering replacing the standard rubber bushes with poly.

I'm now aware of at least 2 cases, where within very few miles after fitting, the bolts securing the stater ring to the crank pulley have sheared.

On the most recent case, 4 bolts have sheared, 1 has the thread stripped, and one bolt was left holding things together.

Due to an inability to get the snapped bolts out, we can't get the proper puller on to remove the crank pulley.

If anyone has any other experiences, please post

Hi so why do you think this is happening? I fitted poly bushes to mine about 20 years ago and they are still fine today regards terry

The only thing I can think of, is that the poly bushes feel harder than the oe rubber, and are transmitting more shock.

In the two cases I'm aware of, everything had been built, and torqued correctly
