Is the plate above the chassis plate the body number ?. Can this be obtained from any archive using the chassis number ?

Ok. I thought there may be something like the heritage certificate you can get for BMC cars. Shame.

You can get a Heritage Certificate, but as far as I'm aware the body numbers are not recorded anywhere...

Its a tracking number for when the car was on the production line, barcoding 1970s style.

Thanks. I guess I'll just leave the plate off.

I'd leave it on, it looks good with all the zeros :)

That's a photo from the handbook, not my car.

Alternatively, get a plate made to match the handbook numbers :D

Obviously it doesn't matter as the number isn't recorded anywhere so I could stamp anything on it without being concerned about duplicating another car. Is there anyone with a 69 1300 that can let me know their body number so I can pick something close ?.
