Sprint brake compensator

Does anyone know if the Sprints compensator was used on any other makes of car?

There is something pretty similar under most mk3 transits too, but not sure if it would adapt to a Sprint.
They can be repaired...see James resto thread.

I have got one I don't need anymore that is siezed,that could possibly be overhauled if that's any help

Hyundai will be able to get you one, I tried about 6 months ago. Problem is I was quoted about £200 plus VAT.

That link I posted has them for £80, plus an unknown amount for shipping and VAT/import duty.

I have five in a box in the garage, unfortunately the box sat beneath a roof leak, so they are all now very rusty. I doubt I'll be able to recover any of them...

I did take one of mine apart, but it's a bit rusty inside so currently I don't know what I'll do.
Hyundai don't supply these any more according to our local dealer, but I'll have a go at chasing that link, wonder if you get the complete thing or just the valve.
The only reason why these rust is due to lack of brake fluid changes, being hydroscopic moisture is absorbed, brake fluid should always be changed every 2 years to prevent this.
I did speak to a brake specialist recently, I mentioned about silicone fluid, apparently a big no, after a couple of years this swells the seals and causes sticking.
Also I found out that these valves don't appear in any Girlng parts books.
I have also found the hinged part wears, anyone know if this has any effect on operation?

Just an idea have your one machined to have a stainless sleeve, then just rebuild it with new rubber seals

I have one that I think is still free, removed from my Sprint (I have TJs, so no longer needed) and under a thick layer of oil and cr*p. It has the operating arm and brackets with it, there is a little play in the pivot.
I've been thinking about cleaning it up, resealing it and selling it, maybe now is the time!

I have been using silicon brake fluid in my Sprint for 20 years and I have absolutely no problems. So I would not be concerned about using it.

I discussed this with the folk who recon our cylinders and callipers recently, as I had a clutch master returned that had seized due to seal expansion. 99% of the time there is no issue, but occasionally they'll get a return due to seizure. It can happen immediately the seal contacts silicon fluid, as it had in the case I mention, or it could happen over time. It isn't a big enough issue for them to say don't use silicon fluid, but they do say proceed at your own risk. In the case of it happening immediately, they will replace the defective seal but once only.

Emailed this Fourgreen company asking if they have a diagram of the part which is like a Sprint load valve but they say sorry we don't have an image....risky buying something with no photo, can anyone confirm they have actually bought one?

I had a similar issue to you, I am converting a 1500 to Sprint spec, so I had no load valve. Got one in the end, but while I was looking a member posted saying they had used a limiting valve off a Vauxhall.
It wasn't a load sensing valve, if I remember correctly, but one which permanently limited the pressure going to the back brakes. He had run it for some time and had no issues. It might be something to look into if you get stuck.
