Sticking Jets

Just changed the jets on my HS4s to non-waxstat but one of them is not going quite home when the choke is pushed in.
It also does the same when I have the carb out and do it by hand.
I don't want to start bending anything.
Anybody know why this is happening.

Lol - told you so....
Stick with waxstats...
Seriously...the linkage mods to go to non waxtstats are a bit tricky. Did you get some little brackets and keep tke old ball and clip
linkage or did you get the OE non waxstat type? Either way you do need to get free movement up and down. The return springs can also
be a bit lazy with age.
Not much help.....but persistence pays off.

I got jets held on with a bit of bent wire instead of the ball and clip thing.
I managed to get then to move more freely by varying the amount the bottom pipe is fixed into the hole at the bottom of the float bowl.
I got the jets from Burlen and I am a bit disappointed.

burlen supplied some fixed jets for me too and they came with little brackets that kept the ball and socket clip.
Ask them if they still do that type and you can stick with the waxstat ball and clip.
I'd be careful about reducing the supply pipe penetration into the float bowl. I have had one come out on a car temporarily entrusted to me
once....
You need the clear bit right inside that thick black washer/seal thingie.
