I've been reading this thread from the start. Toby is definitely sh*t hot with the repairs. Does he fancy tackling my 1850 auto? I think your Sprint was in intermediate car. There were quite a few changes in 1975 and then there were further changes in 1976 when the whole Dolomite range was rationalized.

Another spurt has happened in Hungary - this time it's the NS sill.









Progress has also been made with the seats which are still in the UK. If your eyesight is still good enough, you might spot that the driver's seat is a slightly different shade in the sunlight as it's from a different car. Hopefully this won't be apparent once inside the car...



I now have a (slightly) non-matching pair of front seats that I no longer need. Is it worth keeping these for when selling stuff is possible again or just strip them for the clips etc and bin the bulky frames?

This can't be the same 'Nuneaton' car that Ken Clarke declined but promoted on facebook; he told me the seller was looking for £2k for that one, but interestingly that too had a non original beige interior and late dash...

I too thought that the "beige interior" was inappropriate for a yellow or yellow/black Triumph Toledo/Dolomite!

I suspect that Mimosa-yellow Triumph Dolomites & Dolomite-Sprints are more common than Triumph Toledos of that colour. Since May 1975, I have yet to see another Mimosa-yellow Triumph Toledo like mine!

When my family, my university-friend and I were touring Hungary during the summer of 1985, in our 1973 VW 1600 Type 2 Westfalia Continental motor-caravan (a vehicle I still have), it rained most of the time!

After a pause in proceedings, Toby has started Phase 2 and has been stripping the engine and transmission so we see what parts are needed and I can get them ordered and there whilst he finishes the front-end panel work.

After a bit of a fight, the head is now off





The spark plug remains can be seen in No.3 but this has since been removed with damaging the head.

The bores aren't bad and will just have a light hone



It's a bit murky in the sump...



but the bottom end rebuild 10k miles ago, in 1981, seems to have held up well



The OD 'box has come up well too

Work is well underway on the 3rd and final major bodywork rebuild area - 'The Front End'







Nothing scary has been uncovered so far...





And the block is back from the machinists too
