Hi Team
I hope you agree it is good news that Pirelli have again produced the original equipment tyres for the Dolly 175/70VR13 CN36.
Anyway, today we fitted a set on some Dolly wheels to put on my Dads car.

I love the look of these tyres!
How much did the full set cost you?

...but original equipment weren't made by Pirelli! They were Dunlop and were HR rated!

For me the appeal is that they are a period tyre in the right size.
Maybe now Dunlop will get some SP Sports made in the right size!

They don't look too reassuring for wet conditions. Plenty of profile but no siping whatsoever.
I had older tyres with comparable profile (coarse thread, zig zag blocks) on our defender and it was all over the place in the rain.

Vintage Tyres in Beaulieu have the correct Aquajet moulds but wont make them as there is no demand! I'd have a set tomorrow if they made them to replace mine which have no wear but getting on a bit.
They do a 13 inch Aquajet but only in a 165R13 82H but they cost £200 each.
Hmm.....

Hmm that is pretty much what I thought when I saw the first post,
save for the fact that you have used kinder language than I would have.

Can anyone recommend the best looking tyre in 175/70/R13 for sprint wheels?

There’s only one way to settle this.
Several drivers of different abilities on a mixture of roads using the same car, not knowing which tyres are fitted at the time. Weather/road conditions would need to be very similar for each blind run..........
Now that would be a test report that would sell me a magazine. And maybe some new tyres.....

Sorry, but I really have no idea what you really want to know. After all, tyres are round and black.
If you mean period tread, maybe the Pirellis sold by Doug? Or Michelin XAS (maybe too old a design?)
But there are plenty of very good quality tyres, especially if you are willing to use T rated (up to 118mph as opposed to the original H, 130mph rated tyres. Top speed of a std car is 116mph I believe...)

Sorry guys my post really was lacking some detail wasnt it!
So basically my predicament is - I need to replace all 4 tyres on my Sprint wheels. I dont really want to spend over £200 for a set of 4 and i would like the original size of 175/70/13.
I can see there are plenty of tyres available in this Tyre size, However im unsure what would be best suited to my 1500 HL in terms of tread pattern & handling etc.
