Last time that happened to me, it was an E type Jag! Count your blessings!

On a more helpful note, my head man in Telford can cope with this by fitting an insert. though of course, the head will have to come off to do it!

Yep, still in the head. I've come across tight plugs before, so wasn't shy about the force I used. The other three are equally tight, but I've left them be!

Wow, what a pain. It''s fixable though, head off and get it on a pillar drill, progress through each drill bit size in small increments, if the drill bit is centered nicely you may be lucky enough to pick the remaining threads of the plug out after running through with the last drill (less than the width of the plug threads) . Then run a tap through to clean up the threads in the head.

I'm stating the obvious, you knew this already.....

Had this many moons ago on a ford cvh...... An old guy who lived local came in and said "i will get that out" He used an old square file, and tapped it into the broken plug and then with mole grips and tapping at the same time out it came....... I was gob smacked..... it even came out with tip
I only let him try as i was going take the head off if it failed anyway. A blow around with an airline with the exhaust valve open to get rid of any bits, new plug in away it went
Would it work again? Who knows??

I was going to suggest screw extractors but they would need to be extra long to get down the plug tube, but the square file is worth a go. Or a triangular file . Plenty of penetrating fluid for a day too before trying it.

hi I'm sorry for you it happened to me a few years ago I got a old spark plug and cut 4 slots in it like 4 quarters then tapped it in a bit using a plug socket and extension bar and ratchet working it in and out, worked for me good luck with it Briwoody16v

Mix a bit of diesel with atf and pour in around the other 3. Its very searching and better than wd40. If you get the broken one up on tdc compression and fill it up the same you may get lucky with the square file idea. Another trick I use in general is if you have torx sockets, broach one down the hole of the remaining plug and try it with a bar on an extension. May not have to take the head off then. Good luck

WD40 isn't particularly searching at all. I use a mix of diesel and paraffin, it's marketed under the brand 'Plus-Gas'

Project shelved until Easter now...
