Having successfully finding and buying back my own dolly 1850 now 3 years on. A friend of mine Phil asked me about his own Dolly Sprint he owned in the 1980's and wanted to know there whereabouts of it and the possibility of being reunited with it

The reg is as said about RFF 861T, when Phil owned it, it was red, there a photo on the internet of it in yellow, but according to DVLA records its still taxed and MOT'd and is now green

Does anyone know where it is now?

Cheers

Steve

Inca paintwork in very good nick in July 2017, be weird that someone would paint it green now, and after having being 'subject to a complete nut and bolt restoration completed over a 12 year period'!

My concern with the paint job would be that if it was painted just for the movie it may likely just be a very cheap spray over and not been prepped properly nor the door, boot jamb or under bonnet done.

Unlike with the older ads the ebay seller included an underbonnet shot and you're right, very yellow and not at all mellow! A massive fuel filter, an oil cooler in a very odd location and an interesting full width radiator arrangement with the fans on the opposite side.

Love to know how this clip was made! British traffic lights NEVER follow this sequence! You'd have had to take the green-returning-to-red sequence and reverse it!

Looks to me like a VERY skinny ally rad and TWO fans in front, one each side. I can't believe that oil cooler is particularly effective in that position, would be better with a row of louvres in the bonnet above it. Ad says the car has an electric water pump too, someone was obviously serious about defeating overheating issues!

Ah yes, made using the finest ingredients of a slice of 'power of the internet' together with the liberal application of 'artistic license' sauce to achieve a bad graphical pun. \:D/

Probably from some other leyland vehicle. It wouldn't surprise me that a wrong thermostat fited was the start of fitting such an radiator and oilcooler. Or seeing those fuseboxes the last owner did forget to fit the gauge voltage stabilizer. Can't see no other reason why you would need all that.
