I am thinking of getting some track day wheels for my car....
My thoughts were minilites or revolution wheels...
Has anyone any thoughts of the best type, size.. etc and where to get them at a reasonable price...

What's important is to get the correct offset so as not to upset the steering and suspension geometry. Anything other that the 5.5J of the Sprint alloy and you could run into problems. Anything bigger than 13" and the tyres will need to be a lower profile to retain the same rolling circumference as the original 175/70R13 tyres.

Matching the rolling radius (which governs speedo accuracy) is not that hard and there are websites that will do this for you.
You can use just about anything from 13" to !5" so long as the offset (also known as ET) is similar to the original of +35. The stock arches will not accept much more than a 6" width.
As an easy choice that is readily available, I recommend a 5.5 x 14 with a PCD and ET for Triumph TR7. These will fit a Dolomite without any scrubbing or clearance issues and a 185/60/14 tyre will give a rolling radius close enough to the original as not to significantly upset the speedo accuracy. They fill the arches much better than the stock 13s and tyres are cheaper and more plentiful.
I got 3 MWS fake minilites from Midland wheels, all brand new, on special offer at the Stoneliegh Show for £75, then bought the 4th the next year at the same show for a further £70 for a total of £145 for a set of 4 brand new wheels! Obviously I got lucky, but it's the sort of thing you can get if you're not under the cosh of time.
