Got a load of the fasteners and bracketry back from the platers now so getting on with building the doors up and nailing them on!





If any one out there knows a foolproof way of lining them up then please get in touch...I'm finding it impossible!

It doesn't help that the Sprayers took all the door brkts off and sprayed them individually despite me asking them not to!

That's really annoying the body shop did that. I don't think there is an easy way, just trial & error & small adjustments. It is worth fitting the catches as they tend to pull the door into place.

On mine I wanted to replace one of the rear doors with a NOS one I had, we just couldn't get it to fit, so opted to repair the original.

Good luck with it, & don't chip the paint!!

Yeah...then lost half of the hinge bolts and all of the door stays!

Where you up to with yours now Tony?

Just got the fuel pipe fitted and back axle. Next job fit front subframe and get it back on it's wheels.
Going slow.

A little more progress...building up the front doors now and fitting NOS quarter light assemblies which involves changing the clear glass out for the original Sundym tinted glass...





I'll be lathering the inside of the doors with Dinitrol, but here's a view you don't often get to see....

I would like to suggest that you also consider drilling a drain hole in the bottom of the rear doors as the existing drain path does easily get blocked. See attached photo

I did the same thing, drilled three holes in each door

Fitting the doors it a bit of work. You fit these and adjust without the catches. The door itself should be correctly fitted and not pulled in the correct position by the catches. The reardoors unfortunately need sometimes a press. These are not adjustable all the way and a press is needed to deform the hinges. I have a crate full of hinges and try and error does make it happen sometimes but mostly it's a few times bending and deforming before the door sits nice in the aperture.

Only adjust fully complete doors. By the weight of the glass and all other fitments the door will hang down so no use of adjusting with bare doors.

After a visit from the Estimable Carledo, all 4 doors were nailed on in an approximate location.

The car is now rolling...





and is due to be taken to Cliff of Car SOS fame to have the vinyl roof, headlining and post trims etc. fitted - he's already retrimmed all the seats.





It's nice to show the before and after states of things too!...

Looks nice, door gaps look pretty good.
