I went to see Ted yesterday, his 92nd birthday was the day before, so took him a card and smuggled in a bottle of Grants. Physically he remains very fit, and he seems no worse mentally than I've found him previously, so the dementia arresting drugs seem to be keeping him stable. He seemed to have lost his hearing aids, but he was fresh from an assisted shower with a blonde carer (can't be all bad!) so maybe that was temporary for the duration!
He asked to be remembered to all who know him. He appreciates the conversation and brief company of visitors as he tends not to mix much with the other residents.
