Brake servo rebuild?

#1 Post by DavePoth »

Quite a bit of progress on my car this winter, after conceding defeat and sending it off to someone who had a vague idea of what they were doing. :D

The engine is in and it goes very well, but I'm slightly hampered by not having any brakes. The servo has seized solid, which isn't very clever.

I see there are a few companies that rebuild them, can anyone recommend someone good?

£145 exchange plus postage. The exchange relies on the supplied unit being serviceable, so unfortunately a £100 surcharge is applied until this is established.

Yes, but the price is now £220 unfortunately, but that does include postage.

No exchange surcharge for 1850 units but we do need your old one back. 1850 units are done to order, so a couple of weeks or so turn around.

A simple test for your servo is to sit in the car with the engine off; apply pressure to the brake pedal which should have strong resistance and then start the engine. You should feel the pedal depress further if the servo is working....
