Got a question about the thermostat housing,I bought a new stat from a Stag they say it fits the dolomite as well, when fitting the stat i found out the foot doesn't touch the foot in the manifold there's about 5-7 mm gap,why would you have a gap ? This is a sprint manifold in looking at
Thanks Dave

That's how it's supposed to be!
When the thermostat is closed (cold engine) the water circulates through the by pass pipe between the water pump and the manifold via that 7mm gap. as the engine warms up the stat opens downwards and the "foot" closes off the bypass pipe! SEEMPLES!!!!

Nah mate, the stat opens downhill! Look at the disc closely and you'll see it's the only way it CAN go!
