After always having pancake filters on my 1500 Dolly, I want to put an air box back on, I have one but no filters or bolts to bolt airbox to carbs, could anyone advise on A) The bolts needed, and B) The right air filters to get.
Cheers Rich..

Air Filters GFE1063
Bolt x4 BH505181 5/16 UNC x 2 1/4 long.
Please cross-check the bolt part number. You'll need gaskets as well.

Thanks, Air filters ordered, hopeful of sourcing bolts locally. Thanks Rich..

Re instated the air box with new filters etc, must say a big improvement on the pancake filters the PO had installed, now will have cold air coming in instead of the warm air from the engine bay. I have leaned the carbs off a little as they were running rich, anything else I may need to adjust? The carbs are a faff, locking nut and mixture nut, should the locking nut be spanner tight or finger tight?
Cheers Rich..

Locking nut? As far as I recall on the HS carbs the lower hex is the mixture adjusting nut (changes the "base" height of the jet)
The upper hex I think is just the fixing for the jet carrier?

Had to back the top nut off to be able to move the mixture nut, did nip it back up after backing it off but the mixture nut wouldn't move on either carb without backing the top nut off first! On my Tolly and ex 1850 it was just the mixture nut to move, was just wondering if this was normal or maybe need a clean and lube?
Cheers Rich..

Probably could do with a bit of a clean up and free-ing off. I've never had to touch the top-nut when adjusting HS4s
