Martrim vinyl roofs and D posts

Hi All.
Has anybody fitted the D post trims that could give me some advice.
Should the stitching be visible on the curved section with the door closed.
My thoughts are that the stitching should go up against the first step/ledge so stitching is further in unseen.
But as the wife says it seems to pucker up in this position.
It just seems better if the stitching did not show but wondered if anybody else has had this problem.
Cheers gary.

Hi,
I was really hoping someone has fitted the D post trims.
No matter, so I called Martrim and they said they did not do the kits anymore and could not
really pass comment on the stitch position.
So they gave me the trimmers number that made them.
Nice guy and we had a good chat about the D post trims, he said that yes the stitch has to go on the first curve just inside.
He said did they notice a lot, I said yes they do notice but felt with some shoe polish the stitches would not be so noticeable.
so we shall see once fitted.

Sorry Gary, I've only just remembered I had these fitted to XJX, my last resto.

H, people have successfully fitted them without using the ones that have stitching, so it can be done - hopefully someone will reply and let you know where they got them and how they did it.

Hi Martin, thanks for putting that up. I didn't know that style of trim existed; I like it ! Mine need replacing as well and I shall use these !
Cheers for now,
Tony.
