Down-under Sprint NOT for sale
Down-under Sprint NOT for sale
Hi,
My wife and I've come to the point where we have to place our Sprint, "Daisy", on the market.
I know that they're not uncommon in the UK, but here in Australia they're quite scarce with somewhere around 70 remaining in the country.
Ours is a particularly good one. Originally a Mimosa car, as all 620 that came down here were, it is straight and rust free. It does everything its supposed to do, well.
Additional to what you see in the photos is, an electric cooling fan installed and working as it should, a Moto Lita steering wheel, sports air cleaners, alloy carburettor mounts, and the usual box full of spare parts, books and receipts etc.
I know most of its last 2 decades of history, but have no clue about its early years in Australia. Its not a concourse car, but is more than capable of holding its own in any car show. Its a numbers matching car and presently, the only thing that it needs, mechanically, is that the overdrive cut out switch needs attention. Either adjusting the gaskets or replacement.
I have refrained from listing all its new bits, rebuilt bits and niceties here, but will provide you with them on request. I'll gladly answer questions about car, but if you look through the posts I've made on this forum, over the years, you'll see that I am fairly fastidious, but not an exacting perfectionist.
I'm asking for offers around AU$15,000 which equates to around 7,500 pounds.
Should you be at all interested in purchasing the car and importing it back into the UK, then I'm more than happy to assist with organising the shipping, but it would be at your expense.
Please PM me for any information you might require.
Cheers,
Rob

Sure. Go right ahead.eveshamcroft wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 3:20 pm Can I feature this in December Dolly Mixture? Car looks absolutely fabulous in the dark colour with stripe.
I have one possible buyer sniffing around it presently and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello Folks,
The idea of selling Daisy just never settled well with either my wife or myself......so we've decided to keep her.
Additional to that, the idea of no longer visiting this fabulous forum also played a part in the decision.
My apologies.
All the best,
Rob

I don't blame you Rob. Your car is gorgeous. I am normally a bit of a purist, but I love the interior and the exterior colour scheme. You had me dreaming of a road trip to Australia and bringing the car home with me!!Sundowner wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 11:40 pm Hello Folks,

Re: Down-under Sprint for sale
Glad you changed your mind Rob, you'd never get one that nice again if you tried. Also if you had sold it you can still turn up on the forum for a chat and show other cars
Cheers

She’s definitely a keeper....a woman who doesn’t want you to sell your old car!
