Clutch diagnosis.

If you have a soggy clutch and there is no sign of leakage in either master or slave cylinder would this work as a diagnosis ?
Take an old Sprint clutch hose and cut off the master cylinder union end.
Solder the flanged end of the hydraulic pipe ( that would normally seal into the master cylinder ) to block it and also the cut end of the pipe.
The fill up the master cylinder with fluid into the union outlet and screw the modified pipe-end in.
If your now press the pedal, if the master cylinder is O.K. it should be rock solid; therefore the problem is the slave cylinder / pipe / linkage.
If the pedal is still soggy the problem is the master cylinder.
Would this work do you think ?
Thanks very much,
Tony.
