Brake servo and master cylinder reconditioning

Good evening,

I have a low mileage brake servo and master cylinder that I want to keep with my car. However, the rubbers within them are 40 years old and need replacing for peace of mind.

Can anyone recommend a refurbishment company? I was going to use Contract Auto Engineering in Worcester as they gave a reasonable quote and have a 2/3 week turn around. Anyone used them before?

Thanks

Contract Engineering are good, but be wary if you want to retain your original part. A friend used them to refurbish his Sprint servo which was actually in good rust free condition. What he got back was obviously a different servo which had severe pitting due to corrosion.
They process a lot of brake parts so I can understand how it may be difficult to track an individual part through the reconditioning process. So I would say its likely that what they actually do is an exchange service.

Hi Gavin.

Alun Nicholas - (xvivalve) supplies reconditioned master cylinders for the club and these are sleeved in stainless steel and excellent quality - so fit and forget. I am sure he will respond to this thread, but worth an enquiry.

I can't remember if he also can arrange for the servo's to be done too?

The club has a limited supply of Sprint servos on service exchange via Alun.

They are rebuilt by a firm close to him so I suspect he could get one done for a different model (I see a 1500SE on your avatar)

You can get single and dual circuit masters on exchange also through the club, these are uprated with a stainless steel sleeve in the bore for longer life.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll email the club with a shopping list!
