Hi, I seem to remember reading a guide to replacing the Sprint prop bearing with a Transit item. Needs some mods to the brackets etc. Does anybody know the link to that article as I can’t find it !!
Thanks, Richard

Annoyingly I did this a few months ago but didn't tke ny pictures. It was fairly painless. The only park I would regard as a "bodge" was using tigerseal (or similar) to glue the transit part into the old Dolomite circular bracket. But as the old one was tigerseled together for the last 8k it is of no concern to me, and plenty to hold it in position.
I bought genuine ford part, as opposed to the cheaper pattern one, from a company called Transit Parts
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORIGINAL-O-E ... 2749.l2649

£30, copies are half that, but reckon £15 extra is worthwhile as it should last indefinitely. Certainly happier than repro part meant for a dolly.

Thanks for the reply and Ford number Clive.

The article I’m referring to retain the Ford part complete and was modified to suit the Sprint brackets.

Hmm......

That may have been a Capri propshaft mounting that was modified?

The transit one is a good option because they are extremely long lived and
can be persuaded to live with the outer steel ring of a Dolomite mounting.
I adopted a different approach to Clive,
rather than use adhesive, I modified the Dolomite outer ring to form a clamp.

Ah, so yes, remove brackets from ford item, fit to outer ring of dolly one. Bearing uppermost in the mount

Fitting to the bracket is where Ian and myself differed. I like tigerseal, a really handy product! (or in my case, toolstation supplied PU40, same stuff)
