Hose expansion bottle

After tightening every clip, skimming the inlet manifold, changing the o-rings on the transfer pipe and everything else I could think of. I was still seeing a coolant drop at the top of the engine.
I was also seeing the coolant level increasing in the expansion bottle. I therefore ordered a hose off Robsport, which they say is the correct size. It has a much narrower bore than the one I had fitted and I doubted it would going off the outlet on the thermostate side, it was a real struggle to get it on.
However it seems to have cured the problem. My guess is, even with the clips done up tight on both ends, the larger bore hose with letting in a tiny amount of air and that was allowing the coolant to flow to the expansion bottle. Thought that might be of use to others are having the same problem.
