I have just bought an 1850 Dolomite auto with 21.500 miles from new. It's a genuine time warp.i would like some advice from you
knowledgable people.
Previous owner had fitted a electric fuel pump which is extremely noisy and doesn't stop clicking. The old mechanical pump was still in place so I took a look and it is totally seized. Has anyone had experience of fitting a replacement mechanical pump as I would like to return the car to the original spec, trouble is all the pumps available are copies of the original AC pump. Can anyone recommend a decent make of pump that they have installed themselves.

I can probably find you a good used AC pump...you'll need to look to see if it has a spacer between flange and block....probably not, given the age and mileage, but there are two types with different length arms...

Hi Alan, I know why the previous owner fitted an electric pump. They take ages to start without if left for a few days. I put a new pump on but it made no difference. So i fitted a primer to go with the pump solved the problem completely and it is reversable 8) PM me your email address and i send you photo's of how to do it. Only takes half an hour. I have a 72 Auto as well :D If Alun (above) hasn't got one i might have.

Tony.
