Hello,

What is required to fit twin webers to a late 1850, plenty around for sprints but not as much for the 1850.

I have seen a few manifolds for sale from a TR7 will these fit, also the thermostat ?, i see manifolds for sale without?

all advise greatly appreciated.

Presuming your 1850 has the later 1850HL cylinder head, Pete,
a TR7 manifold will fit straight on.

Personally, I would fit a remote thermostat because doing so means you don't use the standard radiator bypass pipe anymore
and therefore avoid having to contend with trying to get said radiator bypass pipe to seal properly.
The bypass pipe is replaced by a hose from the remote thermostat plumbed into the bottom hose
(core plugs can be used to blank off the water pump cover and inlet manifold).

Furthermore I would take the heater feed from the cylinder head ( a TR7 water transfer plate bolts straight on).
Also, you can use studs instead of bolts for attaching the inlet manifold to the head.

Are you planning EFI or carbs, Pete?

Ian.
