Advice please

I'm looking at buying a Dolly that looks pretty solid apart from one area to the floor, roughly towards the back n/s of the transmission tunnel. This doesn't look like a massive issue though should I be worried?! Also, how easy are steering columns to fit? Thanks in advance

The rust pictured is the rear end of the n/s chassis leg and you can see its been patched already further forward.
Fortunately the club do a repair panel that you can fit whole or in part to sort this. It's not a job i'd advise for a first time welder but it's not that difficult either.
On steering columns, if it's a Sprint or HL, the column is pretty easy to remove and refit, the plank dash cars are more awkward, especialy the SE. Parts are scarcer for the plank dash cars too, the last SE I did, I ended up converting it to an HL adjustable column from shere lack of available bits!

I've moved the thread here as it is a technical question.

Ohhhh chassis legs! My nemesis!
That's a normal rust place.
Engine and subframe need to come out to do the job properly I'm afraid. It isn't difficult, but does need good plug welds. It's actually on my list of 'how to fit' club panels.
