Dash Air Vent Felt swelled

I got the three wood bits of dash on the left out and replaced with the temporary set and even got the glove box lock working well. Then I tried adjusting the air vent.

It seems that the rear piece of felt has got dislodged and swollen. As a result, the vent's got so stiff one of the threaded bars holding it to the dash has come out rather than adjust. I'm trying epoxy to hold that in, though I'm not overly hopeful.

So I wondered if anybody has replaced that felt successfully and if so with what?

Alternatively, anybody got a good one?

I'll have a look Graham, I have a handful of eyeball vents, but this is a pretty common fault. How many of my spare ones actually WORK will have to be determined by experiment. Plus I have to find them!

I've not tried to take one apart, so intersted to find out how you get on!

I didn't have a problem getting it apart. I just cut through the glue on the two bayonet bits with a scalpel/craft knife and it came in two.

I've used a few of the bits that weren't that swollen, evostuck back in. But it's still very stiff when put back together. Plus the gaps will let air through, more than normal, when the flaps are closed.
