Oil transfer pump?

Hello good people
Has anyone used one of these (or similar) oil transfer pumps?
https://www.sealey.co.uk/product/563767 ... r-pump-12v
I was wondering if the little pump would handle pumping 80/90 gear box oil?
Considering the location of the gearbox top up point being a bit of a nightmare, and the fact that I don’t want to be cutting access holes in the tunnel cover - at £20 for the sealey pump off of eBay I thought it would be a good tool for a gearbox oil change?
Cheers, Bish.

I've only used an even cheaper one off ebay once for engine oil through the dipstick hole, which was still fairly warm. It did work well, given a little jiggling about to get at the last bits in the sump. Almost nothing came out of the drain on the flat. I'm thinkin that next time, I might leave the car jacked up on the right, and just use the pump, so I can get at the filter oil seal without lifting it up and down.

This is the one I use and it can be a bit of a faff pumping, but the bent hose end just hooks inside the gearbox fill hole, leaving hands free to erm...pump

Thanks for the replies chaps.
I think I may go for the manual style pump rather than electric..... or shall I go for the electric? Still don’t know, but space is limited under the car when it’s up on the axle stands so the syringe type is looking favourite if I go for a manual pump.

I set fire to one very like that trying to use it on gear oil. The pump drew too much current and the insulation on the wires melted and caught fire.
It was fine when I used it on engine oil though.
Now I use one of these:

Cheap n cheerful, but it works.

I use one of these,,its like a mini A series toroidal oil pump on the back of a slow high torque motor so will pump gearbox oil well enough, the only bother I had was to run it in before using it as it was tight initially, however its spot on now!

I used this to drain and refill the diffs on my car's, it works really well. Didn't think it would for the price
If you buy the 12volt one Bish, keep us posted.

Thanks all for the replies. I’ve gone for the sealey hand pump as used by Shaun. £16.99 off of eBay.
I certainly don’t want any

, plus I’ll look on it as a bit of exercise!
