Hi Dave.
Yes, 4 nuts to undo in the boot behind the cardboard trim and then a bolt at the bottom of the damper that goes through the rear trailing arm.

I think I'll be doing this soon on my Sprint too!

Unless the springs are short enough to feel loose then yes.
There is plenty of stored energy, enough to cause serious injury. So get the right tools, or get somebody to do it.

Picking up on this oldish thread, I am in the process of changing my rear shocks and springs but I am having trouble in getting them out.. They are old and there is no movement in them which isn't helping so after some pointers or help please.

I have removed the 4 nuts in the boot, and removed the bolts holding the shock to the arm and the front bolt allowing the front of the arm to drop down.. So the arm pivots down as per the Haynes manual but not enough to get any real movement to get it out... I have even tried to compress the spring but to no avail.. Tried greasing the inside of the arm to no real avail... I could cut it off and remove it, but considering i cant seem to get it out i am unlikely to get the new one back in either. Feel i am missing something here in getting these out..

Any help or ideas appreciated....

Cheers in advance....

It should come out, you might need to prise the bottom of the shock up out of the trailing arm. If that doesn't work, try unbolting the trailing arm from the axle and taking it off with the shock-absorber still attached. You can then separate them on a workbench, which might be easier.
