Hi All,

Where's the best place to buy standard front & rear rubber suspension bushes?

Cheers

Tony

NOS as and when they appear on ebay, or maybe Fitchetts if they have OE...I'm wary of anything that isn't OE...

Tony, I have a set of unused upper wishbone rubbers.
(I removed these from new wishbone arms)

If you'd like these, please PM your contact details.

Seriously. Why would anyone use 40 plus year old rubber suspension bushes? We all know rubber degrades over time (would you use 40 year old nos tyres?).I bought some new, standard suspension bushes from Rimmers earlier this year for the front upper wishbones, fitted fine and work fine.

The covid period isn't representative but when daily driving these new rubber repro bushes last about half a year. As with most current classic car repro parts quality is absent and not important for manufacturers only selling and making money. 40 years old nos is currently the best to use when std rubber is needed.

Thanks for sharing your experience of the Rimmer bushes, good to know. Unfortunately I have the same opinion of modern rubber as Jeroen, whilst NOS is not ideal & as you say may have degraded, it is still probably better than new. We know the problem with the Rolon timing chain tensioner & that reusing the existing is a better option. Also my experience of modern rubber boots on TRE & ball joints is the same they don't even last a year.

Mick Dolphin did not have any stock unfortunately.

TD Fitchetts were able to supply all the bushes I need, some appear to be NOS others appear to be Repro, lets see how they last.
