Where do the outer headlight wires go though the inner wing?

Looking at chassis plates, I realize the wires go through the inner wing far higher than the should. I just put them back where they were when I got the car, and never thought about it, and I can't see anywhere else they can go. Should they go under the chassis leg?

The front loom travels along the bottom edge of the inner front panel.
The lights loom follows this through to the inner wing area.
If that makes sense, my pic isn’t perfect and I have so me heat shrinking around it.

Thanks, I think the pic is clear enough. I think I'll have to take some connectors apart to re-route.

As a matter of originality, the subloom for the outer headlights passes under the chassis legs, a design (or lack of) feature I dislike intensely, I often find them rubbed or dangling from missing or broken clips. On the Dolomega, i've routed them through the space occupied by the inner headlights and thence behind headlamp support panels and into the top of the outers as factory. However, i've used the earlier design steel bowls from a Vitesse, which has a smaller wire hole, nearer the front of the lamp than the stock Sprint's big plastic grommet. I had to remove the wires from the joining block from headlamp to loom to get the wiring through the small grommet and hole in the Vit bowls.

I've also put the sidelights in the outer headlamp bowls and now run orange bulbs in the indicators without tinted lenses or dividers in the white frosted indicator lenses, so the whole lamp lights up orange. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy! I'd have liked "angel eyes" sidelights but the cost was prohibitive and the lens units have no facility for a dual filament headlamp bulb.

I've used plastic bowls for both sets, so there can be a hole wherever it's needed. Should be better than under the legs.

I guess the design kludge comes from adding doubled headlights as an afterthought.

Naw, the single light car's wiring follows the same path. Plus the first short tail single light Toledos and the first longtail twin headlight 1500FWDs share a launch date. This is not counting the 1300FWD of course, whether they share the same flaw, I don't know, but the front end panelwork is different, it may be that the wiring has a hole in the flitch or somewhere more sensible.

IMO it's just another bit of typical cheapskating, even a hole costs money! But i've long given up worrying about such things, if I find something I think I can do better (not hard) I just get on and do it, I'm not on a budget of time or money and I want my car to last way more than the 7 or 8 years which was the probable design lifespan originally.

Ah, should have done some research. Still, I'll look at alternatives to going under the leg.
