Heat sheild

How many heat sheilds does the Sprint have ? i know theres one for the starter motor, think it fits on the exhaust pipe near the starter,any more

Three.

The starter motor heat shield clips to the solenoid body.

There is a bulkhead heat shield pop riveted to the bulkhead where the down pipe passes close.

The automatic also has a heat shield riveted to the transmission tunnel to protect the inhibitor switch from exhaust heat, but that one isn’t particularly effective!

It only really protects the solenoid and wiring terminals. Plus it's nearly always missing anyway!

As Steve says it just clips on top of the starter solenoid - circled in red in the picture below:

Anybody got distentions? Especially for the Terry clip that holds it on (obviously not so well if they're mostly missing).

does anyone have a sketch of the heat shield for the auto box please?

Both my 1850 and sprint could do with one, all I have left are bits held on by the bolts.

There's also a brake pipe shield.
