I am wanting to place a sports exhaust same as the sprints is this possible and any company making this for the 1500 HL or willing to make a custom one ? I would like to also change the manifold, I know the club had a new type of manifold made to stop the issue of blowing gasket between the manifold and exhaust are any available to buy ? Thank you for your help and advice. Mark

The Sprint has the exhaust manifold on the opposite side to the 1500, so it is a completely different design. The standard Sprint exhaust is quite a convoluted routing, so I can why a sports system was designed.
From memory the standard 1500 exhaust doesn't have as many right angle bends as the standard Sprint system, which could be the reason I can't find an off the shelf system for the 1500. Still anything is possible if you talk to exhaust suppliers, you will probably find that plenty of companies in your area can design a system if you ask around and are willing to pay enough.
Looking at the system, a budget option would be to keep most of the system but change the back section so the exhaust is at the opposite side of the car, which would get rid of two right angled bends. Though I am not sure how much benefit you would get from that.
As for the downpipe gasket, I had no end of trouble with that when I ran a 1500 and could never get it to last. The consensus seems to be make sure that the two mating surfaces are perfectly flat, that the gearbox support for the exhaust is present and re-tighten the nuts on the studs after taking it for an initial run after fitting.

If you can get a 4 branch from the club, you can probably use that and the the Rimmers Sprint Sports system (minus the Sprint downpipe) the only problem you might encounter is a difference in diameter at the joint between the club 4 branch and the rimmers front box. However you can get a wide range of adaptors on ebay to overcome this. Although the exhaust manifold is on the opposite side to the Sprint one, the 1500 standard and the club 4 branch take the downpipe to the N/S of the tunnel at around the same place as the back end of the Sprint down pipe.
There isn't an official sports system for the 1500, so whatever you do will have to be a bit of a suck it and see job. Or consign it to a bespoke exhaust maker to make the whole thing. It's not cheap though!

The same company which makes our extractor manifolds will also make a custom sports system using Cherry Bomb components. They look great and sound great - but not too raucous. The fly in the pudding right now is that the company has been badly hit by Covid and they're focussing on the high volume, quick turnaround work to keep the wolf from the door. Hopefully when they're back on their feet they'll continue working on our new batch of manifolds.

Does the club have a time line with the exhaust company to be ready make the exhaust system again?
Do you have any photos of the whole system they make ?
Does the cherry bomb exhaust effect the performance of the engine ?

Sadly, no.

No, it's custom made. You deliver the car to them and they make it to fit your car.

I couldn't say for sure, but combined with the extractor manifold it may help release few extra BHP.
