How hard is to change a wipe spindle box?

There is play in the nearside spindle box, the wiper flops instead of parking properly. I have already replaced the nightmare spindle nuts with new nuts, so that should undo.
So I wanted to know how hard it is to change the box itself? Is it doable or a job I would be better off not attempting?

Is it the spindle or the mechanism?
It's all well hidden up behind the dash over the top of the heater box so diagnosis will be as difficult as the repair I suspect.
I think it's probably the first thing that got fitted to the shell in the factory given how much stuff is around it!
Thanks
Sean

Oh yeah, should have mentioned, no dash. So accessing it is not really an issue.

The left hand one is no bother at all once the nut is undone, just remove the clip from the link and pull down into the car. Best to remove the glovebox for those that haven't already pulled the whole dash.
The right hand one is a be-atch and involves pulling the whole motor and it's mount plate down into the car in one lump with the wheel box and it's support arm. Not for the feint hearted that one!

Fortunately that is the good one. Considering how hard it was to get the wipers off the spindles, I thought it was best to change the box before refitting the wiper.

All done, the only thing I would mention about this job is be careful to note how the big spacer and all the washers fit together, you will need to reuse them. Plus that blasted spring clip made a bid for freedom when I took it off.
Fixed the floppy wiper issue, so it was definitely the spindle box that had gone.
