Is it only the early Sprints that have a gasket/spacer behind the Starter Motor ? Are they always a pain to get the top bolt out

This is the first time ive used a wobble bar, great idea thoxvivalve wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 12:30 pm Top nut is easily accessed with a 3/8" drive socket on a wobble bar and extension(s) long enough to allow you to use the ratchet in the gap between engine and radiator...it literally feels its way home on it's own. You need 3/8" drive in order for the extension to pass the block at the right attitude. For replacement, use grease in the socket to hold the nut and replacement is almost as easy. If the blower motor is removed, you can also feel it in to place by using a fore finger over the back plate.
There's no rhyme or reason behind the spacers, some starters need them, most don't.
