Clutch

How do you remove the clutch release bearing from the carrier ?

You have to remove the square headed bolt from the cross-shaft and spin the clutch fork round it. Which, of course, you can't do because some muppet welded it all up!

You're gonna have to scrap the clutch fork and cross shaft and cut it all out with an angle grinder. No other option!

Ive got the bearing carrier out of the gearbox, how do i remove the bearing from the carrier do i need a press ?

I have just tapped them off with a hammer non of the ones I have removed have been very tight.

Sorry, my mistake, I just rest it loosely in a vise, bearing uppermost and tap the carrier out with an appropriate sized socket.

To replace I rest the bearing on a bit of wood and tap the carrier in with a leather mallet. Try to hit it dead center and not too hard, the carrier is sintered bronze and very brittle. It's beyond easy to chip a bit off!
