superflex engine mounts

#1 Post by series111 »

I am looking at getting a pair of Chris Witors Superflex engine mounts for my sprint as I have noticed when i move the engine the rubber is starting to come away from the metal.

I have read on other forums that poly enginge mounts can cause vibrations through the car and are really only for track cars is this so with the super flex ones, I only use my car for the road, has anyone got these mounts fitted to there car and how they rate them.

which is the best way to fit them with the engine in the car, with a piece of wood under the sump and jack up with a trolley jack to take the weight.

Thanks i look forward to your answers.

I’ve been running with the Superflex mounts for a while, around a thousand miles or so.

No issues found. Possibly a fraction more vibration felt in the cabin, but nothing to shout about, and having an engine that doesn’t look like it wants to jump out of its bay on tick over is good. A 1000 miles isn’t a prolonged test as such, but everything I’ve used from Superflex in the past has been fit and forget and I expect these mounts to be the same.

With regard to fitting yes it’s a pretty simple job, I did it exactly how you describe. Make sure you have the mounts on with the offset the right way up so that they lift the engine when in situ.
