I checked the club spares list, but can't see them.
Anyone know if any of the ones available out there in internet land are less bad quality than others?
If I'm going to replace them I'd rather not be doing it again in a few months :-)
Cheers, Sam

I have one pair left from a bundle I bought from our rack reconditioners; they are faithful copies of OE. Most out there have tighter corrugations with sharp peaks and tend to wear out more quickly than these with radiused peaks.

£15 for the pair plus postage would make them £20 though, but I doubt I'd be able to buy them for £15 a pair today!

Sounds great Alun, just let me know how you would prefer to be paid etc.

I bought a pair from Rimmers for £17 a pair, they look quite good and thick too, hopefully not too thick to casue a problem on full lock.

The problem generally is not the thickness of the gaiter but it's overall diameter. The gaiter naturally falls VERY close to the protruding head of the inner track control arm bush bolt, any increase in diameter above that of the specifically made correct gaiter will cause it to rub away on the bolt head in service. This is also why a specific bolt is used with a shallow and rounded profile to the head. But even so, it's a tight squeeze! I once fitted a Herald rack gaiter, to get an MOT pass, I got the pass but the gaiter was toast in less than a week!

Thanks Steve for the info about the round headed bolts. I am in the middle of rebuilding a powder coated subframe assembley for the 1300 and found the said bolts amongst the old rusting nuts and bolts, so i'll use them again.
